Philodendron mayoi is an exotic, scrambling aroid vine native to Brazil, known for its unique, deeply lobed, finger-like green foliage. It is popular as an easy-to-care-for houseplant that can grow quite large with proper support. Plant Care & Features Foliage: Features striking, deep green, palm-shaped leaves with a glossy texture. Size & Growth: A scrambling subshrub that can reach a height of 4 to 12 feet, growing 3 to 4 feet wide. It is a climbing plant and benefits from a moss pole or trellis for support as it matures. Light: Prefers bright, indirect light. Direct sunlight should be avoided as it can scorch the leaves, while insufficient light may lead to leggy growth. Water: Water when the top inch or two (top quarter) of the soil feels dry to the touch. Ensure the pot has good drainage to prevent waterlogging and potential root rot. Soil: Thrives in a well-draining, rich, organic soil mix. A blend containing peat moss, perlite, and orchid bark is suitable. Temperature & Humidity: Ideal in warm temperatures between 18°C to 26°C (65°F–80°F) and appreciates high humidity, around 60% or higher, to keep the foliage lush.
